Most of these animals have been surrendered to us due to life style changes for the owner. Most of these animals come from loving homes and were treated good. All have been mentally and physically evaluated and are ready for new homes. All fees cover their housing, care and medical expenses while here at our facility. All chinchillas come with a month supply care pack of pellets, hay, vitamins and care sheets. I am available for continued care assistance and I will be available for any questions.
These animals are not for breeding. Genetics and pedigree information is not available. Understanding proper care for a chinchilla is required.
Chinchillas live 15-20 yrs and require air-conditioning in the warm weather.
We usually have used or reconditioned cages. We always have new cages available. All supplies can also be purchased here at reasonable pricing.
I have chinchillas in our shelter several are very friendly and would love a special friend to care for them. Chinchillas are $65.00 each . Care packs are included.

Chinchillas are very smart and are also nocturnal. They should not be kept in a bedroom. They are social and need to be part of the family so they should be near a main living space so they will be visited regularly.

Chinchillas are from South America up in the mountains. They can jump over 3 feet and have several traction pads on their feet to help them get traction. They are very fast and love to be active. This is one of their special traits that make them so fun.

Never expect a child to be fully responsible for caring for a pet. Pets are a learning experience and need a responsible parent or adult to supervise and teach a young person. This is a family project to learn, love and respect together.
Chinchillas are up in the early morning but need their sleep during the day. You cannot change their sleep habits but they will adjust to your am and early evening schedule. Chinchillas will be awake in the eve about 5-7pm and very active throughout the eve. They need to be fed in the evening since they are awake during this time.
